2017 → Learn.Lead.Launch! was conceived around a kitchen table by three high schoolers that were looking to engage middle school students eager to participate in developing soft skills. An inspirational single day seminar, entitled “Learn.Lead.Launch!: “Pursue Your Passion” with multiple speakers and breakout sessions was held in Newark, Delaware.
2020 → COVID forced most students to spend the summer largely at home, rising 9th graders Rahul D’Souza and Rai Kahlon revived Learn.Lead.Launch! They realized there was an opportunity to engage more kids with a diverse set of speakers from across the country through Zoom technology. They organized “Learn.Lead.Launch!: Perfect Your Presence,” a five-day seminar with speaker sessions and breakout exercises formulated around the idea of practicing various forms of public speaking.
2021 → With us recognizing the excitement amongst middle schoolers surrounding computer coding and recognizing that communication and presentation skills continue to be keys to success in all fields, including STEM, L3 leadership teamed with Varun Pappu to offer “Learn.Lead.Launch!: Pitch Your Program” a two-day seminar that combines a hackathon with ideas on pitching and presentation.
2022 → L3 expanded to health education and took on the initiative to train and certify Delaware’s high school and middle schoolers in CPR and AED use. Teaming up with local schools and organizations, including Delaware Futbol Club, L3 has been expanding to educate as many as they can with this integral skill.
2023 → The L3 leadership team, ever-responsive to the needs of their peers, partnered with the counseling department of their high school and started a high school club devoted to career investigation. Termed Launch x Sanford! L3 presented a very successful speaker series “Launch x Sanford!: Pathways and Professions.”
2024 → L3 will continue to lead more AED/CPR events. The Launch x Sanford speaker series is poised to grow as we add more exciting professionals to the roster! The future of L3 is assured as we onboard a new set of leaders!
